It’s time to get another brief look at what PlayStation is up to courtesy of a State of Play, announced for November 11, 2pm PT /  5pm ET /  11pm CEST | November 12 at 7am JST.

This Ste of Play is specifically focusing on Japan and Asia, and as such will be hosted on the Japanese Youtube channel. Don’t worry, there will be English subtitles for idiots like myself who only speak one language.

Aside from that, Sony is offering not even a single teasing crumb of information, aside from it being longer than 40 minutes and prominent Japanese voice actor Yuki Kaji will be hosting.

Chances are, PlayStation’s ongoing Hero Projects scheme will feature heavily. I also suspect Marvel’s Tokon Fighting Souls will appear.

Interestingly, there has been a rumour floating around that Sony is considering a new version of the PS5 that is sold only in Japan, is region-locked and sold at ¥50,000, versus its currently price of ¥72.980. At this price (roughly £250) it would match the Switch 2. However, there hasn’t been any way to verify this rumour, so take it with plenty of salt.

Capcom has previously openly discussed a pricing barrier for the PS5 in Japan where the cost puts it out of reach for younger generation. Although they did note that this is also an issue outside of Japan as well.
