As the end of the year slowly creeps toward us, it’s the time of the year once again to sit down and watch The Game Awards, lead by the enthuastic Geoff Keighley. The show kicks off on December 11, but we already know the full list of nominees. And wouldn’t you know, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is set to sweep the lot of them.
The independent game from Sandfall Interactive released to massive critical acclaim and has sold over 5 million copies, and now it has snagged itself 12 nominations for The Game Awards, out of 29 possible catogories.
It has been nominated for:
- Game of the Year
- Best Performance (x3)
- Best Art Direction
- Best Score & Music
- Best Audio Design
- Best Narrative
- Best Independent Game
- Best Debut Indie Game
- Best Role-Playing Game
- Best Game Direction
In my estimation, it’ll easily grab quite a few of these, especially Best Debut Indie Game and Best Indie Game. It has the numbers advantage in Best Performance as well.
But will it get Game of the Year?
